Crafil Celofil® Fine is ahigh quality biodegradable sewing thread made from 100% Tencel™ cellulose by Lenzing. Made in Portugal by Crafil, thread specialists supplying the luxury fashion and denim industries, it is particularly suited to fine fabrics and lightweight garment construction.
Suitable for machine or hand sewing, serging and overlocking, Celofil® thread works well with natural fibres like bamboo, linen, cotton and Tencel™ where biodegradability and sustainability are needed.
Why choose biodegradable thread? Celofil® is made from 100% cellulose wood pulp rather than conventional synthetic fibres, making it plastic-free. It's a great alternative to cotton sewing thread as it is stronger than cotton thread with a higher resistance to breakages when compared to any other cellulosic fibre. The thread is biodegradable and compostable, with a closed-loop production process and a very low climate change impact. It is also suitable for overdyeing, making it useful where the thread needs to be matched to a particular fabric or colour.
